Cultivation of cash crops, increased usage of chemicals, limited access to crop loans, lack of awareness about govt

Policies and bad implementation, are some of the reasons why farmers continue to suffer and in worst cases even pushed to commit suicides. This is happening in Andhra, Telangana , Tamil Nadu and other states as well

The goal of the project is to establish

1) farmer field schools - to educate the farmers on better choices, about natural or organic farming, financial planning

2) farmer producer organizations - farmers to get a better bargaining power by forming FPO's

3) farmer helplines - establish helplines not just to assist the farmers in distress but to provide better access to information

Farmer field schools, FPO's will be created which will equip the farmer with better information and better access to tools that will allow the farmer to avoid a distress like situation . Once these working models are established and proven to be successful this can then be taken up.with govt to replicate this further
