One Meal, A Ray of Hope — For Poor Patients & Families

Background:

Since April 2, 2020, Shreel Foundation has been serving, nutritious meals twice daily to underprivileged patients and their attendants at Sadar Hospital, Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Most of these families arrive from remote villages with little to nothing. They are not only struggling with illness, but also with poverty, displacement, and despair. Some stay at the hospital for days or weeks with no access to food, no income, and nowhere else to go.

This food initiative began during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and has continued uninterrupted for over 5 years, offering a lifeline to those who need it the most.

Challenges:

Most patients and their families at Sadar Hospital cannot afford daily meals.

Many sleep on hospital floors without food or basic needs.

As the number of needy people grows, resources are running low. Rising food prices and lack of steady donations make it harder to continue this vital meal service.

Solution:

Shreel Foundation is runing a Bhojan Seva Kendra that prepares and serves meals on the spot, twice a day. With a dedicated local team and transparent daily operations, we ensure:

• Hygienic and nutritious food (rice, dal, sabzi, chapati, puri, sweets etc.)
• Fixed time and systematic delivery of meals.
• Zero cost to patients or their attendants.

With your support, we aim to serve 300 meals daily and 9,000 meals every month.

Groceries Utilization for the Deprived Poor & Needy Persons:

Funds raised through this campaign will be used to procure and distribute essential food items for daily cooking, including:

• Rice, pulses, potatoes, vegetables, spices, cooking oil
• Salt, soy protein, onions, and seasonal greens
• Fuel (LPG) for cooking and water for hygiene

The groceries are used strictly to cook fresh meals every day for hospital patients and their families, under close monitoring by our ground team.

We maintain daily usage records and updates to ensure transparency and accountability.
