Oxygen Concentrators For Under-Resourced Hospitals And COVID Care Centers - Goal Amount ₹35,00,000 - 14 days Left

India urgently needs oxygen concentrators to save the lives of its citizens. 

At the beginning of May, India recorded its highest daily coronavirus death toll since the pandemic began, and became the first country to register more than 400,000 new cases in a single day. We are in the middle of a COVID-19 catastrophe. The surge of the second wave of COVID-19 has led the Indian healthcare infrastructure to crumble. Every day, you must be seeing that people are running around getting oxygen cylinders for their family members. Our hospitals simply do not have enough oxygen cylinders to be able to treat everyone. The huge number of deaths that we are witnessing is partially due to our inability to provide oxygen to covid patients in time once their oxygen saturation levels start dropping. Therefore, what Indian hospitals need the most is oxygen supply.

What are oxygen concentrators? Why do we need them?

• We are buying O2 Concentrators and donating them to Oxygen Concentrators for Under-Resourced Hospitals and COVID Care Centers. An oxygen concentrator is a medical device that produces oxygen from ambient air. It takes in air, filters it through a sieve, releases the nitrogen back into the air, and works on the remaining oxygen. It thus does not need a consistent supply of oxygen from plants or cylinders. 
• Experts believe when the supply of oxygen is choppy, concentrators are more useful. With the increase in the demand for oxygen and a shortage of beds, oxygen concentrators prove useful as they are portable and can be used anywhere in the hospital to provide oxygen to various patients. It is also a relatively low-cost, quick solution to scale up a hospital’s capacity as compared to installing own oxygen plants, etc. which will take a lot of time.

LCF is led by medical and management professionals of multiple calibres. For this initiative, LCF is supported by Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and the Global Shapers New Delhi Hub along with multiple socially conscious individuals in India and across the globe. Collectively we are trying to procure 10LPM concentrators which are useful for hospital usage. We are trying to raise money for 100 oxygen concentrators which will be donated to Under-Resourced Hospitals and COVID Care Centers that have a shortage This will help the hospital to convert regular beds into oxy-beds, to provide oxygen to COVID-19 affected patients. We already have confirmed suppliers from the US, Europe and China to support us with high-quality products within a span of 4-6 weeks.
