Oxygen Generation Plant for Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai

There is an urgent dire need for Oxygen supply for treatment of Covid 19 patients in the face of Oxygen scarcity in the country and state of Tamil Nadu.

Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai, has 3400 beds serving the poor with both multi specialty and superspecialty healthcare for the state of TamilNadu and South India. It is currently providing the maximum Covid care in the city and state. The hospital is dependent on Liquid Oxygen and O2 cylinder manifolds currently, and there is severe shortage of Oxygen supply.

Rotary Club of Madras East and Rotary Club of Madras Next Gen propose to install a 500 LPM Oxygen generation plant at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai to be able to give uninterrupted Oxygen supply to the 800 bed Covid block and also the operations theatre complex and critical areas in the building.

The impact is to save as many lives in the Covid 2.0 pandemic as possible, and no one should die due to lack of Oxygen. The 800 Covid beds are full in the hospital and the Out patients sees at least at least 500 Covid positive patients daily.
