Equal Community Foundation was established in 2009 in Pune to address the issue of gender-based violence by making boys a part of the solution. ECF’s mission is to raise every boy in India to be gender-equitable. ECF has implemented its flagship gender-transformative programme, Action for Equality (AfE), in 20 low-income communities in Pune since 2009 with an outreach of over 6000 boys. ECF has also provided capacity-building support to over 50 NGOs and trained over 180 field facilitators over the last 4 years. Similarly, ECF has partnered with UNESCO and ICRW to train teachers to implement gender-transformative programmes for boys in schools. Through these partnerships ECF has trained over 700 government school teachers in two districts in Rajasthan and over 90 teachers across CBSE schools across India. . The platform is currently facilitated via but not limited to an online portal: www.projectraise.org.Over the past year, ECF has also undertaken activities through Project Raise to establish a network of Civil Society Organisations, donor organisations, and government organisations to work towards the common goal of engaging men and boys in gender equity initiatives.

Donations through Give Foundation, registered under section 80G of India's Income Tax Act, 1961 are tax-deductible.
