Penn Nalam Well Women Checkup Programme

Penn Nalam, a unit of Sri Dhanvantri Trust, is a "women for women" cancer prevention and early detection center. The prime objective is to save lives of women suffering from cancer. We go to different places- villages, schools, colleges, companies and offices to spread awareness about cancer and to provide them door-step screening and blood test packages.

We are able to identify the common problems such as anaemia, thyroid, high sugar and cholesterol levels, and hyper tension among women. Many are suffering from heart problems.

So, we have designed an additional blood test package and ECG test for women who come for a cancer screening test.

We have started doing blood tests and ECG for people with poor economic conditions.

We have clubbed the blood test package as enlisted below:

1. Sugar

2. Hemoglobin

3. Cholesterol

4. Thyroid

5. ECG and Blood pressure

We conduct all these tests for just Rs.600.

We are estimating that among every 100 women, there will be 20-25 anemic cases, 15-20 cases of hypertension. 5-10 cases of diabetes and 5-10 women will be having cholesterol problems. 5-7 cases of ECG abnormality will be identified.

The above new cases will be identified and guided properly to take proper diet and medication. This will surely help them to lead a healthy life and avoid unexpected health problems like heart attacks and other medical emergencies.
