Since ancient times, mankind has been dependent on plants not only for food and flavors, but also for medicines.

The genetic biodiversity of plants is under continuous threat due to over-exploitation, environmentally unfriendly harvesting, loss of growth habitat and unmonitored trade. A large number of them are currently under threat of extinction and many of them are already extinct. Fast depleting groundwater and tracts of dry barren land are becoming common phenomena everywhere.

We live in a world where the excesses of technology have taken us away from our roots. Today, parents take children to a mall instead of a walk around a lake. Our lives in the metropolis are determined by the pace of the mechanical clock, and the unthinking urgency of action. In this rush, we forget to pause, observe and learn from nature. The 'narratives of progress' that are being advanced are unsustainable and inflict violence on nature, destabilizing the delicate balance of our planet.

At Kanha, nature exists in awe-inspiring stillness and beauty. The Heartfulness Green Movement envisions a space where humankind and nature don’t just co-exist in harmony, but where humankind is able to learn its lessons from nature, integral to its own experience of a balanced evolution.

Kanha is home to the many future generations to actively recreate peace and harmony in the world by cultivating a culture of synchronicity with nature.

A variety of water conservation techniques, conservation and large-scale propagation of endangered and vulnerable medicinal plant species in India using the most advanced technologies such as plant cell and tissue culture are being carried out.

It is believed that a bond with the natural world is integral to health and well being and a spiritually aware life. By developing a deep and symbiotic relationship with nature, we build a natural sanctuary for mind, body, heart and soul.

Several hundred trees cut down due to road widening projects have found a new lease of life after being translocated to Kanha. The water table in the region has improved in the last couple of years.

Today, this ecologically transformative movement has inspired citizens from all over the world. Foregoing differences of nationality, language, race, class and gender, together we strive to create resplendent green spaces where the beneficial vibratory fields generated by trees resonate an ideal inner environment.
