We’re excited to share a truly inspiring story from Kotra, Rajasthan, where women from CRY-supported initiatives are transforming lives through Mandna, a tribal art form rooted in the Bhil and Garasia communities. With determination and support, these women have turned this heritage craft into a sustainable livelihood, reducing exploitative migration and creating opportunities within their communities.
Their journey reached a significant milestone at the Adi Gaurav Samman ceremony, organized by the Rajasthan Government. These women showcased their stunning Mandna creations in an exhibition attended by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Their talent was recognized, and discussions were held on expanding the reach of this art. Today, their talent is in demand, with government institutions commissioning Mandna designs for their offices. This not only boosts incomes but also inspires a legacy of empowerment within their villages.
This story is about more than art—it’s about breaking barriers. With the right support, women and girls can achieve extraordinary things and lay the foundation for a brighter, stronger future.
Thank you for being a vital part of their journey—this wouldn’t have been possible without you 💛. Together, we can keep empowering women and girls across India to dream, achieve, and inspire.
With gratitude,
