Professional Dance Development Program

India's youth from socio-economically weaker backgrounds drop out of schools due to various factors, one of them being lack of interest in studies. Many of the same youngsters have shown tremendous talent for dancing, and have idolised many international pop artists. These youngsters want to pursue dance as a career, and need support and motivation for the same.

ISPTD has been empowering young adults using a comprehensive program of dance and academic tutoring which teaches them the necessary physical, mental, academic and life skills to prepare them for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives. We have started a one year long full time professional dance development certificate program, which is attended by participants on a full scholarship. We are hoping that the program acts as a foundation course and helps its participants in gaining exposure to the world of performing arts.

India has over 1.5 million schools and since NCERT has made it compulsory for schools to implement dance, theatre, music and yoga as compulsory subjects, the need for trained dance faculty is the need of the hour. In the last 7 years 124 students have finished the 1 year full time certificate program in dance and nearly 80 of them have made their careers in the field of dance. 20 of the students have set up their dance studios and have become entrepreneurs.
