Project Karuna

Many sections of our society continue to be affected by the disrupted food supply chains, job cuts, and loss of daily wages in the wake of the lockdown.

The Annamrita Karuna program has helped us mitigate the ongoing hunger crisis by ensuring that daily wage earners, migrants, hospital staff, and patients get cooked food 7 days a week.

Currently, we are running 3 programs to help the people affected by the pandemic induced lockdown:

• Municipal staff feeding program:

This includes people dedicatedly serving in departments of Solid Waste Management, Maintenance, Public Health, Water, Social Justice, and Disaster Management.

• Hospital health staff feeding program

We have started serving meals to hospitals in Mumbai to all the health care staff including doctors, nurses, assistant staff, pathology staff, and office assistants.

• Food for life

Annamrita Foundation is also providing meals to the underprivileged and needy in streets and slums through our various kitchens in Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh.

Annamrita has already served more than 20 million cooked meals* in 14 cities across the nation.
