A Future Without Digital Access Is a Future Denied

Every day, thousands of children in rural India wake up with dreams—but without the tools to chase them. Most have never seen a computer. Many don't even know what the internet is. For them, Project ThulirTech is more than just a classroom; it's their only gateway to the modern world.

In villages across Tamil Nadu, children, especially girls, orphans, and first-generation learners, are being left behind. Without digital access, they cannot competelearn, and dream beyond their circumstances.

Project ThulirTech, preparing to launch by STEMSUP Foundation, is working to change that by setting up digital learning centres in remote villages and providing access to computers, internet-free STEM content, and trained local tutors.

But right now, our ability to begin this mission is at risk.

No Child Should Be Left Behind in the Digital Age

According to the Comprehensive Annual Modular Survey (2024)Nearly 3 out of 4 Indian youth lack basic digital skills, a staggering gap that widens further in rural areas, especially for girls and low-income families. These children are growing up without the tools to participate in today's digital world.

Omprakash, the founder of STEMSUP and alumnus of the London School of Economics, says,

"Our goal is simple to ensure that every child, no matter where they live, has the right to learn, explore, and grow, But without support, we may have to limit how many children we can reach."

STEMSUP is preparing to launch its first 5 ThulirTech Centers in Thoothukudi District, aiming to reach over 400 children in the first phase. But the need is far greater; more than 1,000 children are waiting for access to even the most basic digital learning tools.

We Need Your Support Now More Than Ever

Without urgent funds, hundreds of children may be forced to grow up without digital literacy, STEM exposure, and the skills they need for the future.

"We have the content, the tutors, the curriculum, but we don't have enough tablets, computers, or funds to launch all five centres at once, every rupee you contribute helps us bring one more child into the digital world"- explains a team member.

Your Contribution Can Spark a Child's Future

When you support Project ThulirTech, you are not just donating money. You are giving a child:

  • Access to a computer
  • Exposure to science and technology
  • A safe learning space
  • A chance to believe in a brighter future

₹500: Provides one child with a STEM and digital literacy starter kit

(Includes printed worksheets, essential science tools, and learning materials in Tamil & English)

₹2,500: Supports one child's full access to a ThulirTech Center for 6 months

(Includes digital access, tutor support, and a safe learning space)

₹10,000: Helps purchase a low-cost tablet or refurbished computer for a rural centre

(Used by multiple children for offline STEM learning and digital skill-building)

₹1,00,000: Helps launch and run an entire ThulirTech Digital Learning Center for 1 year (Covers devices, electricity, tutor honorarium, STEM kits, and maintenance)

₹10,000 could enable 50+ hours of digital learning per child per month
₹1,00,000 supports 50+ children and creates local employment for tutors

No amount is too small. Every contribution brings us closer to a digitally inclusive future.

Be the Reason a Child in Rural India Learns to Dream

"I want to become a Teacher. I have never used a computer. I hope I will soon." – Meena, age 11, daughter of a farm labourer.

Let's not allow her dream or the dreams of hundreds of children like her to fade due to a lack of access.

Your generosity will help launch these centres, power up computers, train tutors, and provide a future that every child deserves.

All donations are eligible for an 80G tax exemption under the Income Tax Act (India).

*Note: A Focus Block (under the Focus Blocks Development Programme, or FBDP) is a specially identified administrative block in Tamil Nadu that has been prioritised for development due to its relatively low socio-economic indicators, lack of infrastructure, or high development needs. The Government of Tamil Nadu launched the Focus Blocks Development Programme (FBDP) in the 2023–24 Budget.
