Providing Essential Services to Flood Affected Communities in Tamilnadu and Puducherry

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The rains could lead to flooding of roads, inundation and water logging in low-lying areas; low visibility; disruption of traffic; damage to vulnerable structures; localized landslides/mudslides; and damage to crops. The government has stepped up rescue and relief preparations across districts in Tamilnadu and Puducherry.

While Chennai and its neighboring districts including Puducherry are struggling to survive the flood, Sevalaya has stepped in to provide relief in rain-ravaged areas in Tamilnadu and Puducherry. We plan to distribute dry ration kits, packed meals and essential kit supplies to the affected population in urban slums, rural villages, the homeless and people in temporary shelter homes. Sevalaya has presence in Tamilnadu and Puducherry and our team on the ground, on a war footing can reach out to support the affected people
