Story

About Us

Swastava Cancer Care is a non-profit organization working towards the cause of defeating cancer in India. Registered as a society in 2017, Swastava’s mission is to create awareness among people in general, and youth, in particular, about various types of cancers and their causes, along with ways to prevent them. To this end, the organization works with many like-minded NGOs, CBOs, and the government to conduct awareness camps in communities, schools, colleges, and other relevant institutions, speaking to children, youth (through a flagship program called “reach them young”), and women about the causes of cancer and prevention methods.

To complement the awareness efforts, Swastava conducts screening camps with women across urban communities, villages, and institutions in partnership with hospitals, government departments, and supporters to ensure the early detection of oral, breast, and cervical cancers.

In our years of existence since 2017, Swastava has conducted awareness and screening camps across the state of Telangana and has so far already benefited more than 45,000 people. This has been made possible through strategic partnerships and financial support from individual and corporate donors

Awareness Programs on Menstrual Hygiene

It is estimated that only 15%of Indian women know what sanitary napkin is and in rural Telangana, women use cloths and reuse them by washing. After 3 days of periods, they dry the cloth and use it next month. Some Tribals use mud pack or fresh banana leaves also they often resort to using cloth, which, while not inherently unhygienic, can lead to health issues if not properly cared for.

There is a great need to educate women about the necessity of menstrual hygiene. Swastava has covered 10,000 women and youth during the year 2018-19 and targets 15,000 during the current year. The proposed van will have the facility to show videos and presentations to the masses once camped in a village and educate rural women and men.

Many women lack awareness or face financial challenges that prevent them from accessing sanitary napkins or tampons.. To address this, raising awareness and providing accessible hygiene products is crucial. By doing so, we can empower these women to embrace their womanhood with dignity and grace, while also reducing the risk of infections and other health complications associated with inadequate Menstrual Hygiene

At Swastava, we believe that every girl deserves access to basic hygiene and dignity. Unfortunately, many girls around the world lack access to essential menstrual hygiene products, such as sanitary pads.Join us in making a difference today! Your donation, big or small, will contribute to a brighter future for girls, promoting equality and dignity.

 Our FTCCI award

Swastava Cancer Care has been honored with the distinguished Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) award. In the fight against cancer, Swastava Cancer Care has provided crucial support services including screening camps, awareness programs, and access to treatment. Together, we've impacted the lives of thousands, ensuring they receive the care and assistance needed to combat cancer with resilience.

For children with disabilities, especially those who are blind or physically handicapped, managing menstruation can be incredibly challenging. Due to lack of proper guidance, access to resources, and societal stigma, these children often face significant obstacles in maintaining their menstrual hygiene. We provide comprehensive

support to blind and physically handicapped children to ensure they have access to proper menstrual hygiene resources and education. Our goal is to empower these children with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to manage their menstruation with dignity and confidence.

What Your Donation Will Do:

Your generous donations will enable us to:

Provide Menstrual Hygiene Kits:

We will create specially designed menstrual hygiene kits which are also biodegradable and environment friendly tailored to the needs of blind and physically handicapped children. These kits will include tactile instructions, easy-to-use sanitary products, and other essentials.

Swastava Cancer Care is dedicated to making a tangible impact on menstrual health and environmental sustainability. With your support, we not only raise awareness about menstrual health but also provide essential biodegradable menstrual kits to underprivileged children. These kits ensure hygiene and comfort for young girls while minimizing the environmental footprint.

Yourdonation enables us to sustain this initiative, giving one child access to Menstrual care/kits for an entire year. Join our cause today and empower young girls with health and dignity! Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives,

Over the past years, we've reached out to more than 10,000 adolescent girlsin rural areas, ensuring they have access to proper menstrual hygiene resources. Many of these girls face significant challenges due to lack of awareness and access to menstrual hygiene products. This situation often leads to missed school days during menstruation, affecting their studies and confidence.

Your support can make a real difference in the lives of these girls. With your donation, we can reach even more adolescent girls, providing them with essential menstrual hygiene kits and education. Together, we can ensure that no girl's education is compromised due to lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.
