PROVIDING RATION (FOOD MATERIALS) TO TRANSGENDER

Society for Women's Education Economic Development SWEED which has been functioning since 1989 at Melur in Madurai district, Tamilnadu State covering Madurai district.

SWEED has been registered under the Societies Registration Act and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) to receive foreign funds. Also SWEED has been registered and got 12A and 80G.

SWEED is mainly working for Women and Children. We are doing Women empowerment activities for which we motivate the rural and urban women to involve and assist Government and Bank schemes to sustain their livelihood. Besides, we are doing nutrition support for HIV/AIDS and TB-infected people. In Madurai district one of the blocks is called Tirupparankundram wherein more than 50 families of Transgenders are living. They are living very economically suffering for their daily food. At present, due to the COVID and lockdown, they were not able to get any cooli work. And hence SWEED has planned to provide RATION MATERIALS FOR Transgeners.

We are planning to provide 20 kgs of Rice, Lentils, Cereals, Handwash Sanitizer, and Mask for 50 families of Transgender.

Due to the economic crises and nonavailability of food materials, they are involving immoral activities. If the ration supposes distributed, the immoral activities may be prevented themselves.
