We at Aakriti Newage Foundation are fundraising for a cause close to our heart, to bring a lasting change in the lives of the underprivileged. To help us create more impact and touch more lives, I need your support and contribution.

The question may arise why is there a need for education when nearly thousands of private and government institutions are working in the field of education. The answer is simply one liner ‘Lack of Intent & resources’. The number of educational institutions in India is huge but one thing is common in each one of them and that’s lack of holistic education and shifting the core of education from imparting knowledge to just restricting it to earning money.

1 in 11 children go to work when they should be in school. When it is hard to afford necessities like food, shelter, and clothing; education becomes a luxury that the poor give up. Illiteracy then leads to further poverty. 20 Million children in India do not go to school. Millions of children are still denied their right to education because of poverty and inaccessibility.

The organisation burned the midnight oil in 2020 to brighten the future of the underprivileged children amidst a pandemic through the innovative approach to E-Teaching and Learning. So at Aakriti we focus on a type of education that aids in earning a livelihood as well as develops their personality holistically. At Aakriti we have two types of programs:

1. Digital Classroom Program

We believe every child deserves a chance to explore the world. Our Digital Classroom program brings the world to rural children and can help in decreasing the digital divide. Through this program, we offer:

• Digital Learning: Children aged 8-18 learn using computers, laptops, and soon, projectors. It has enhanced their receptivity and eased their learning process.
• Interactive Learning: YouTube, movies, one-to-one communication and online tests make learning engaging.
• Skill Development: We focus on internet and mobile skills, essential for the digital age and to make them less dependent on others.
• Personality Development: Building confidence and communication skills, one of our important pillar in this program.
• Career Guidance: Exposing children to diverse career options and various subjects in order to provide them a wider spectrum of options to choose from in future.

2. Teach Under a Tree Program

Learning shouldn't be confined to classrooms. Our 'Teach Under a Tree' program develops holistic growth through:

• Creative Expression: Providing introduction to arts, crafts, music and photography ignites their imagination and creative center in them and the same time adding petals to their flower of life.
• Physical Fitness: Regularly providing sports and physical activities training to promote health, teamwork and to contribute to the country in the next Olympics.
• Communication: One of the most important facet of an individual’s personality is communication, both in verbal as well as non-verbal form. This is also most sought out skill in today’s market.
• Scientific Exploration: Hands-on science experiments spark curiosity. This is well proven. To bring the rural scientific mind at par with their urban counterpart and to give them a glimpse of where the world is heading scientifically and technologically.
• Well-being: It’s said only a healthy body can have a healthy mind. Therefore, focus on health, nutrition, and environmental awareness is the base for all other activities to perform in life.
• Life Skills: Developing essential life skills in them for the future so as to deal independently with fundamental things in life.

Along with this we also have 'Nutrition for Education initiative' 38% of children in India are stunted. Inadequate nutrition is the leading cause of stunted growth. For India's poor children, the mid-day meal at school is their only proper meal in a day! But twice every week we feed nutritious food to children at our center, so they don’t have to learn on a hungry stomach which also motivates them to join our skill and education classes. Nutrition is the first step before anything further.
