Rainbow Homes Programs

Homeless people, especially street children are most vulnerable of the human beings in this modern world. Girls and boys (many of whom are without parental care) are susceptible to all kinds of abuse and exploitation on the street and in their work places. These children who live on city streets; orphaned, abandoned, and violence-affected children; working children; children of farmer – suicide and starvation families; and children of sex workers. We strive to ensure that these children access their rights in loving, open and safe residential care homes in government buildings for them to grow into happy, responsible and caring citizens.

Rainbow Homes Program as an umbrella project of RFI (Rainbow Foundation India) works in collaboration with ARUN (Association for Rural & Urban Needy), government and other like minded organizations aiming to protect, care for, educate and empower our most disadvantaged children by operationalize and facilitate a comprehensive, non-custodial & voluntary residential child focused, community care model which helps provide basic rights and necessities like nutrition, healthcare, protection, education & opportunities to sustainable futures to children formerly living on streets of Urban India. We are an NGO established in 10 cities pan India working for children from street situations. This model is government & UNICEF recognized to reach urban deprived children, where civil society participation has a big role in recognizing the needs of the most vulnerable sector of our society – the children, their basic rights to a safe & secured living as little citizens of today, and future global citizens of tomorrow. 

The Rainbow Homes program intends to create 'social value' by improving the living conditions and future opportunities of street children in India, one of the most destitute classes in the world. A rights based approach is followed to achieve this: every child has rights to a safe home, food, development, education, care and affection essentially what is clubbed as ‘comprehensive care’.
