Raising funds to feed 650+ resident animals at ALAI for August 2024

Animal Lives Are Important (ALAI) established in May 2017 is an animal rescue and rehabilitation shelter located in Bangalore, India and serves the sick, injured, elderly and differently abled street animals.

ALAI was founded on the belief that every treatable animal deserves a chance at life and a loving forever home. Our vision is to help save them all by providing 24/7 help to the injured street animals so that no cry for help goes unanswered. We rescue and treat vulnerable at-risk companion animals by providing them the needed medical care and palliative support to ease them into the next phase of life.

Housing 650+ animals (dogs and large & small animals like cows donkeys horses sheep goats pigs ducks turkeys) along side daily incoming rescues bring in a lot of responsibility especially in ensuring not a single animal goes empty stomach to sleep.

All of our shelter pets are fed twice a day with freshly cooked meals in the morning and evening, and the large animals being fed multiple times a day with feed, busa, green grass, hay, vegetables fruits etc

From sourcing the rice to gas cylinders to turmeric powder and chicken /liver , everything put together costs us a minimum of 4 lakhs per month to feed these animals. A minimum of 5000kgs of rice is needed per month to feed the animals.
