Story

Every day in India, patients die waiting for blood that exists — but cannot be found in time.

In Amravati district, Maharashtra, a mother in an emergency C-section, a child in thalassemia crisis, a farmer rushed in after a road accident — all face the same desperate wait. A family member running from blood bank to blood bank in the middle of the night. WhatsApp messages flying to strangers. Frantic calls to doctors. The clock ticking.

The blood exists. The donors are willing. The blood banks have stock. What is missing is the one thing that connects them — in time.

Raktify is being built to be that connection.

What is Raktify?

Raktify is a free, non-profit digital platform developed by Choudhari EduHealth India Foundation — a Section 8 non-profit based in Amravati, Maharashtra. It connects voluntary blood donors, licensed blood banks, and hospitals so that the right blood reaches the right patient before it is too late.

The platform is:

  • Medically reviewed and validated against National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC) guidelines by qualified haematologists.
  • Legally structured — every partner hospital and blood bank signs a formal MoU
  • Privacy-first — patient identity is never collected; donor health data is encrypted
  • Completely free to use for all hospitals, blood banks, and donors.

How it works

  1. Donors register with their blood group and health history. The platform tracks eligibility and reminds them when they can donate again.
  2. Blood banks update live inventory — all six blood components including packed red cells, platelets (which expire in just 5 days), and fresh frozen plasma.
  3. Hospitals raise a request — and within seconds, Raktify matches it to the nearest compatible blood and sends WhatsApp and SMS alerts to donors and coordinators.
  4. A coordinator oversees every critical request — escalating to the District Health Officer if blood is not found within 30 minutes for life-threatening emergencies.

Who benefits

  • Emergency patients — trauma, post-partum haemorrhage, crash surgeries — where the critical window is 60 minutes
  • Thalassemia and sickle cell children — who need transfusions every 3 to 4 weeks. Raktify keeps a scheduled registry so families never face a monthly crisis
  • Rare blood group patients — including the Bombay blood group (1 in 10,000 Indians) — for whom Raktify broadcasts a national alert immediately
  • Tribal communities in Chikhaldara, Achalpur, and Daryapur tehsils — with the lowest healthcare access in the district

How your donation is used

Every rupee raised goes directly into building and operating the platform. Raktify charges nothing to hospitals or donors — your support makes it possible.

  • ₹500 — One month of SMS and WhatsApp alerts for one registered donor
  • ₹2,000 — Awareness outreach and donor registration drive for one village
  • ₹5,000 — Training and onboarding for one partner blood bank
  • ₹15,000 — One full month of platform operations: servers, WhatsApp API, and 24x7 emergency coordinator
  • ₹50,000+ — Full expansion of Raktify into a new district, including coordinator recruitment, blood bank integrations, and community donor registration
All donations are eligible for 80G tax exemption.

Where we are and what we need

We are completing the Raktify platform and targeting a launch in October 2026 with partner hospitals and licensed blood banks across Amravati district.

We need your support to:

  • Complete platform development and medical protocol validation
  • Execute MoUs and onboard our first partner institutions
  • Build our initial donor community across Amravati's villages
  • Fund the first six months of operations after launch

If you have ever searched desperately for blood for someone you love — you know exactly why this matters.
