Rehabilitation of injured/ paralyzed/ disabled dogs in our sanctuary

Many injured street animals are euthanized every year in Bangalore city due to a lack of space or resources. We at Sarvoham would like to provide a second chance at happiness to injured/ paralyzed or disabled street dogs who can't survive by themselves, such as dogs who have met with accidents and dogs whose leg(s) are amputated, enucleated, blind, old dogs etc. These kinds of dogs who have a chance of survival are forced to euthanize, however, the animal fights for its life until its last breath, these kinds of dogs who are independent just need a little space, food, shelter and medical care. Every day Sarvoham receives 20-30 rescue calls, but due to limited medical care, we are only able to help and rescue 2-3 dogs in a day. To take in more such dogs who need medical attention, we need to purchase more medicines and increase our manpower to provide medical care and currently, we are not in a state to admit more dogs.

Sarvoham would like to extend its medical care unit by providing medical care and basic infrastructure for these dogs to live happy life and to be treated. Most of the dogs who come into our shelter are accident cases, maggot wounds, and treatable and irreparable injuries. The dogs who get better with our medical care, are put back in their territory from where the dog was initially picked up by our ambulance.

With the help of Grants from Amazon, we would be able to create a direct impact on more than 300 injured street dogs and provide a second chance at happiness. Few of the dogs who come into our shelter with irreparable injuries or paralyzed dogs will be permanent residents of our shelter for the rest of their lives.
