Story

In early 2025, we went back to the heart of SEF’s story.

Why do we exist?

Yes, we work with teachers — because we believe teachers are the levers of change.

But the truth runs deeper.

We are here to solve one of India’s greatest crises — inequality.

At its core, our work is about every child’s right to learn, to choose, and to thrive —

to become good human beings, responsible citizens, and free individuals who shape their own futures.

💡 Why It Matters

Look around you.

In middle and upper-middle-class homes, education is full of choices —

Which stream? Which college? Which internship?

But the very idea of choice is a privilege millions of Indian children don’t have.

In thousands of government schools, foundational literacy isn’t guaranteed,

and teachers are trapped in systems that don’t reflect real classrooms.

As India becomes the world’s youngest nation, over 70% of our youth are leaving school unprepared — to work, to participate, to lead, to dream.

This isn’t just an education crisis.

It’s a national emergency.

“The greatest danger to our future is apathy.” — Jane Goodall

So we ask:

🧠 Why are we complacent that most children never get a fair start?

⚖️ Why should a nation of billions be built by a few?

💔 Why aren’t we outraged that equal rights to education remain just words?

It’s time we asked: #WhyNotAll and take a step toward ensuring equal learning for all children.

This year, we are raising funds to support our Partner School Program, where we work directly with 8 government schools in Uttarakhand and Delhi, reaching over 1,200 students in Grades 1-5.

Your contribution will enable these students to access high-quality learning throughout the year, providing them with opportunities they might not otherwise have. Our program equips teachers with the skills and support needed to ensure the learning in these schools is engaging and impactful, giving children the path to success.

Beyond these 8 schools, the impact of your donation extends further. We are scaling up the learnings from this program across our other initiatives, ensuring that your support not only benefits 800+ students today but also impacts several lakh students across India in the long term. Our work with state governments aims to build scalable teacher training programs that improve education quality in public schools nationwide.

Join us in making transformative education accessible for every child and empowering teachers to lead classrooms of the future.
