Sanitation and Toilet facilities for Orphan and vulnerable children

Overview

We are launching a crowdfunding campaign to support the construction of safe, hygienic, and child-friendly toilets and a bath-cum-common room at a girls' orphanage that currently houses 141 orphaned and vulnerable children. The current sanitation conditions are inadequate and unsanitary, putting the health and dignity of these children at risk.

Background

This orphanage is home to 141 girls who have already faced unimaginable hardships. Unfortunately, the facility lacks basic sanitation infrastructure. The existing toilets are insufficient, unhygienic, and not child-friendly, especially for adolescent girls. The absence of a proper bathing area and a common room further affects their comfort, privacy, and well-being.

The Problem

• Inadequate number of toilets for 141 children
• Poor sanitation leading to infections and health issues
• No private bathing space, especially critical for adolescent girls
• No clean, safe common space for rest, changing, or personal hygiene
• Psychological distress caused by lack of dignity and privacy

Our Goal

To raise funds to build:

• 15 toilet units (with proper drainage and ventilation)
• 15 bathing rooms (with safe water supply)
• 1 multi-purpose common room (for changing, hygiene)

• Construction : Rs. 700,000/-
• Plumbing, Electrical, and Water Supply: Rs 150,000/-
• Septic Tank, Hygiene & Sanitation Supplies: Rs. 150,000/-
• Total: Rs. 1000,000/-
