सुरक्षित शिक्षा अभियान (School Safety in Rural Maharashtra)

We Witnessed millions of deaths and property losses worth billions of rupees in disaster, which is one of the major roadblocks in any development. There is three route cause we found here. First, there are fewer disaster risk reduction activities at the community level, people are vulnerable, dependent and less prepared and our community is surrounded by many hazards which add fuel at disaster times.

We are building Disaster Resilient communities through various initiatives. We are working in 104 tribal ashramschool of Palghar district where we are aiming to prepare a cader of 4000 people like first responders, we will be reducing the risk of 100s of schools by mapping and retrofitting and building the capacity of these schools to make them more safe and prepared.

We are also working with Maharashtra police to train 5000 community people and 3000 police on basic life support across all national highways of Maharashtra, aim is to reduce accidental death by 10%.

TRF is envisioning building resilience at the local level through prevention and preparedness. We are aiming to resource infrastructure lost and saving other resources which affect during any disaster. On an economic level, our intervention helps in saving the extra cost which uses in the recovery and reconstruction phase. On a social level, we are seeing vulnerability mindset will be changed to resilience, the fearful environment will change to courageous action where people will act responsibly and proactively during any disasters. We are also seeing that there will be a shift from ambiguity to clarity on overall disaster management. Our intervention will also help to save important lives affected during various disasters.

With regards to specific details, the schools at Palghar location will be safe for quality education, the committee will and community people will be sustained and continue the DRR
