Story

In these uncertain times, where jobs are scarce and economic volatility affects even the most skilled and educated in cities, rural youth are at an even greater disadvantage when they seek employment.

The Satsang Skill Development Centre (SSDC) has set out to train youth from the most underprivileged sections in Madanapalle (in the age groups of 18-25) with the tools necessary to find their feet in the current professional landscape. The program includes foundational skills like spoken English, Applied Mathematics, Computer literacy and Financial Management & Bookkeeping (with Tally training & certification) along with soft skills such as Effective Communication, Creativity, Teamwork, Critical thinking and Assertiveness, where rural youth generally find themselves at a disadvantage.

While the focus is on professional and soft skills, the main thrust of the program is life skills development and confidence building to uplift the youth from underprivileged backgrounds and make them employable.

Founded in 2018, The Satsang Skill Development Centre has trained 267 students in 12 batches with a 98% job placement rate till date. A total of 90 students across 3 batches are trained in a year. A pool of committed, thorough, and eager-to-learn individuals emerge at the end of every batch. Most of the pass outs have been successfully placed in retail, finance, banking, and agricultural companies in Bangalore, Chennai, and Madanapalle.

Our facility expansion plans are aimed at enabling us to increase student intake to 50 per batch. This expansion will enable us to train and place up to 150 students annually across industry sectors.

On an average, the course fee per student at The Satsang Skill Development Centre amounts to ₹18,000. This covers the full cost of vocational training for 1 student in a batch (of 30 students). It also takes care of administrative expenses, such as, building rental, classroom furniture, staff salaries, learning aids (books, computers, internet costs), etc.
