Save 280 families in Rajasthan from hunger and preventive deaths due to COVID-19!

When India was almost in the celebration mode over the arrival of vaccines and declining COVID-19 cases, the second wave of COVID-19 crushed the future plans and human lives with a raging speed. The preventive measures to control the spread of the infection and health infrastructure to treat infected people seems helpless with the surge in COVID-19 infection rate everyday.

Well over 4,00,000 positive cases each day - the highest figures recorded in any country at any point during the pandemic.

In cities and towns across India, the tragedy is the same. There is severe shortage of beds, medicines, and testing equipment. This time around, the situation is dire. The nation’s healthcare system is overburdened and there is an urgent need to provide medical assistance to those who are critically ill. As patients are being turned away from hospitals, there is also an urgent need to provide essential medicines and food to those struggling to survive at home. In the recent past, requests for basic food, rations from vulnerable communities we work with are increasing.

Through this fundraiser, iPartner India is making an urgent appeal for 280 families that we have identified from 9 villages in Rajasthan, who are in

urgent need of food and medicines. These families comprise of migrants who have returned as lockdown was imposed in other states, daily wage labourers with no work at this time and returning sex workers.

Most of these families are in isolation and some have reported suffering from severe illness after returning back to the village. They are in need of food, supplements, sanitation items and medicines to cope in these difficult times.
