Each year countless infants lose their lives to treatable health issues. The reason is that their parents come from acutely poor backgrounds and can’t afford Intensive Care facilities. Dr Chethana HS and her nonprofit Neonates Foundation of India have been on a mission to save the lives of newborn babies by providing them the treatment they need and preventing mothers from going through the pain of losing their children.
Dr Chethana says, “A mother losing her child is like an irreplaceable void in somebody's life. It's a very distressing experience, I think, which is something no woman or no mother should ever suffer. Your contribution, small or big, will make a huge difference”. Donate generously to save lives.

Uncovering a hidden crisis
“Only one out of ten premature babies are able to make it. Typically this happens because of the availability of NICU beds, accessibility, and affordability. Parents give up. They give up simply because they are not able to afford the ICU care. Should money decide which baby has to live or which baby can't make it? I think that's unfair”, Dr Chethana shares.
The cost of treatment for an infant in a NICU is between ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000. However, a large number of families who are already struggling to survive cannot afford this. The ultimate result is that babies are denied the treatment they need which in many cases may even lead to the loss of life.
Neonates Foundation of India is on a mission to bridge the gap between and support families whose infants are critically in need of medical care. Your contribution to this fundraiser can prove to be life-saving for a baby. Support the cause now.
Why donate for the cause
“It is very heartbreaking to see babies succumb and the mothers lose their ray of hope. And these kinds of sensitive babies need timely intensive care treatment. While amidst the emotional stress they go through, at least the financial strain is taken care of. That is why we felt that the intervention that Neonates Foundation of India should do is, one financial assistance, the second is helping them reach out to good quality medical ICU facilities within hospitals and the third proper counselling and confidence building, especially with the mother and the parents. So that we are all there together, as a team, to make sure that the child gets the best care” Shares the NGO founder.
