SAVE WOMEN FROM CANCER

Overview

Cancer among women in Tamil Nadu is on the rise — and the numbers are staggering. Between 2012 and 2022, female cancer cases surged by 59.4%, rising from 29,898 to 47,673 annually. Breast and cervical cancers account for over 50% of all female cancer cases, and women consistently account for 55% of all new cancer diagnoses in the state.

This growing crisis requires urgent action in early detection, awareness, and community-driven interventions. That’s where you come in.

The Problem

Rising Cancer Burden: Tamil Nadu has seen a steep rise in female cancer cases, especially in districts like Tiruppur, Chennai, and Thoothukudi.

Low Screening Rates: Most women don’t undergo regular screenings for breast and cervical cancers.

Lack of Awareness: Misinformation and stigma about cancer, especially in rural areas, delay detection and treatment.

High Mortality: Delayed diagnosis often leads to late-stage cancer with poor survival rates.

Our Mission

To reduce the female cancer burden in Tamil Nadu through:

Early detection via mobile screening camps.

Public awareness campaigns using local media and influencers.

Policy advocacy for state-supported annual check-ups.

Research and surveillance for targeted interventions.

The Campaign

We are launching Phase 1 of our initiative by organizing free cancer screening camps in high-risk districts — Chennai, Tiruppur, and Thoothukudi. These camps will focus on:

Mammography and Pap smear tests

Doctor consultations

Health education on cancer prevention and signs

Treatment support for diagnosed individuals

Funding Goal: ₹20,00,000 (2 Million INR)

This amount will help us:

Deploy mobile clinics and testing equipment

Hire medical and support staff

Conduct awareness drives

Support initial treatment for diagnosed women

Every rupee you contribute helps one more woman get screened, treated, and supported toward a healthy future.
