Saving Lives In The Foothills Of Himalayas Effected By Covid-19

Provide medical care to COVID patients: Fundraiser to help Uttarakhand battle the Covid crisis

The beautiful Himalayan state of Uttarakhand is currently battling with very high infection rate of Covid-19. What is happening in India and specifically in Uttarakhand is heartbreaking for all of us. With such widespread apathy, it's time we come together to extend a helping hand to those who are severely impacted by the pandemic. Unfortunately, medical facilitates in Uttarakhand are limited and severely under stress exacerbating the pandemic related issues. Many villages are seeing deaths every day. Many families are getting destroyed as breadwinners are succumbing to Covid leaving young children behinds.

We are creating medical kits that will be provided to the ASHA workers in all of the villages of Uttarakhand. The Kits will have:

Thermal scanners, 

Oximeters, 

Manual Steam Machines, 

Thermometers, 

N95 masks, and 

Sanitizers 

These kits will be provided to ASHA workers of the state government through chief medical officer in a district. We will be working with district/village representatives for distribution and usage. 

Today, sick COVID patients are forced to find ways to treat themselves at home as hospitals either don’t have capacity, are not staffed, or don’t have even basic medical kits to support the surge in the number of cases. Patients in villages are struggling to find the right care at hospitals or home. To support severely ill patients with the treatment they need, GiveIndia and Uttarakhand Mahasangh is working towards empowering the ASHA healthcare workers to help the patients in need. This will protect the families in villages from getting infected with the virus and help stop the spread.
