Siddi Tribal Development Program

The Sidi tribal people live in 19 villages of Talala taluka of Gir Somnath district, and they are of an African descent. They have some disputes about their real-time coming to India. Currently Siddi lives on the west coast of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka states. His main concentration is in the Junagadh district of the Rajkot division. They are a scheduled tribe. They have a traditional dance "Dhamal Dancing". They earn their living mainly through farm labor and casual labor. Due to which the problem of labor during the monsoon season continues. Here, Gir Somnath district has a shortage of big industries and a small scale housing industry. So their economic development is very less compared to other societies. The level of education is very low in the society, leading to a lower level of employment.

Despite the good efforts of the government and awareness programs run by them, the literacy rate in this area is very low. As this tribe is very much cut off from the outside world because of low computer literacy, they don't lose out on the crucial knowledge

Sadi tribal people are also in the grasp of addiction, which is adversely affecting the education of children and health of adults.

Also, because of the rising population, employment opportunities are not available for all.

We are planning to provide vocational training to these tribal people, arrange for employment fairs, look into the matters of education, health, and farming techniques in this area.

We are aiming to provide vocational training to these people so that they can avail better livelihood opportunities. Vocational training thus, provides a link between education and the working world. It is usually provided either at high school or in post-secondary trade school.
