In rural Chittoor, many families live in poverty, and Covid19 has only made their situation worse. These people are financially distressed and traumatised because of a lack of earning opportunities. Aside from orphans, many children run to the streets to escape poverty at home, domestic violence, abuse and in search of a better future and more independent life. Absenteeism in schools and crime rates have been on the rise in recent times.
Our project transforms nearly 250 underprivileged into valuable members of society in education sponsorship through the provision of formal education and vocational training opportunities as well as job orientation. SIRDS will empower youth and children in order to sustain themselves and their families as well as eradicate root causes that push kids to give up education.
SIRDS supports underprivileged children by providing financial support to pursue formal education or vocational training studies so that they can be empowered to transform their own lives, families and society. We know that once they are supported with education opportunities, they will be valuable members of society. Educating poor children is to produce appropriate problem solvers to the current generational root problems that push children to abandon education and go to live street life homelessly.
