Skill Development for Disabled Children

Voice of Needy Foundation has a program called ' Skill development' where they scout the entire state and identify 25-30 disabled candidates. These candidates are brought to Bangalore and go through a rigorous 60-day residential program. During this course of time, they are taught skills like soft skills, tailoring, computers, etc. End of 60 days, VNF helps them find a job. 

As this is a residential program, VNF is providing 3 meals a day to all the candidates. The average cost per person is ~100, hence VNF needs a min. of Rs.3000 per day for food alone. We have to pay salaries to the trainers which cost Rs 30000 for 2 teachers on a monthly basis. The entire program i.e., Rs. 2,70,000 . We are looking to start raising funds for this program.

To date, we have trained 483 disabled people and placed more than 382 candidates in retail stores such as Bata, supermarkets such as Big Bazar, and many others. This will make these differently-abled children earn their own livelihood and lead a dignified and independent life without being a burden on anyone.
