We are seeking funding for 12 innovation fellowships for college students, designed to support 320 school children in developing essential skills- observing and empathizing with others' challenges, identifying and critiquing issues that need solutions, innovating and generating creative ideas, and prototyping their visions into reality.

To nurture such superpowers, we need to mainstream new-age education that fosters these skills. Over the last 7 years, Inqui-lab has designed a well-researched program - “Think & Make” that enables these skills. This program features activity cards, and tinkering materials designed to spark creativity and innovation in children. 

Inqui-Lab is now introducing an Innovation Fellowship for college students to facilitate educational programs in Telangana's government schools. This fellowship will provide a researched curriculum, activity cards, and tinkering materials to inspire creativity in 320 students across four partner schools through 12 fellows.

Inqui-Lab, founded by three passionate individuals from Hyderabad, aims to nurture the next generation of problem-solvers by working with government school students to develop essential skills like critical thinking and innovation.

For two years, Social Venture Partners-Hyderabad has supported Inqui-Lab’s impressive growth by providing strategic guidance.

What does this looks like?

Meet Supriya, Srichaitra, Ramcharan, and Pranay - four 13-year-olds who exemplify this initiative. Observing the mid-day meal preparations at their school, they noticed the chefs (mostly middle-aged women) struggling with heavy vessels to cook 50-70 kgs of food daily. Supriya and her team thought, "Why not design a vessel that can:

• Tilt to easily drain starch water,
• Rise to be placed on top of a fire,
• Be wheeled from the cooking area to the serving area?"

And thus, the Vantra Mitra [Chef-Friendly Vessel] was born!

Their ability to:

• Observe and empathize with others’ challenges,
• Identify and critique issues needing solutions,
• Innovate and develop creative ideas,
• Prototype and bring their visions to life,

These are the superpowers our next generation needs—to be both future-ready and effective in addressing societal challenges.
