At 26, I did something that many people thought was impossible - I started a school.

Not in a bustling city or a privileged neighborhood, but in Tikri Kalan, one of the most difficult communities on the western edge of Delhi. A place with 13,000+ school-going children, in hope of a better future, but unfortunately, the system fails them.

The data tells a heartbreaking story:

• 65% drop out (are pushed out) before Grade 12.
• And even those who complete their schooling often end up in odd jobs, working 12+ hours a day for bare minimum wages.

Imagine spending 14 years in school, only to end up with no real future.

This is the heartbreaking reality I chose to step into at 26.

With Anant Valley Public School (AVP), I wanted to change this.

I wanted to create a place where children could walk into a classroom filled with light, find teachers who cared deeply, and discover a world of opportunities bigger than the boundaries of their community.

It wasn’t easy. Many of our children had never stepped out of their lanes before. Their parents are daily-wage workers, struggling to provide even the basics. Yet, inside our classrooms, these children began to see a different reality.

Today, AVP is home to 200+ children who are learning not just subjects, but how to dream, lead, and solve problems in their own community. They’ve written to their MLA to demand proper streets, worked on garbage issues, represented their school at citywide events, and led change every single day.

But here’s the truth - we cannot do this alone.

Running AVP means ensuring every child has books, project-based learning, digital literacy, teachers who are trained and cared for, and a safe, joyful space to learn.

This is where you come in.
