Sponsor a rural girl’s education for a year

In India, around 45% of Dalits are unable to read and write. In Bihar itself, the rate of literacy stands at 19%; the lowest in the country.

Children from the Dalit communities get no education mostly because of fear of discrimination and the expense to their family. Dalit women suffer doubly as they are both deprived and live as women in a gender-based society.

We are providing education and training to girls and women from Dalit communities. In addition, we also distribute school uniforms and educational supplies to young girls.

At our various centres, girls not only complete their education but are also well-equipped for future employment. We also engage with the parents to ensure that they send their girls to school regularly.

We are presently providing education for 250 girls in Arwal, Bihar. A small donation of Rs. 2,684 will support one academic year for a rural girl and improve not only her life but that of her whole family.
