Sponsor for Success - Scholarship for education

Los of bright and smart children and youngsters are not able to continue their education, due to financial distress in some form or the other. Even though these kids have big dreams and want to go into big jobs in the future, they are in lack of support to help them achieve it. These people struggle to survive in the society for their basic needs. Therefore, their dream for education becomes a question and this leads them to drop out of schools and colleges to take up the financial burden of their family or self-survival. Sponsor for success - Scholarships aims to bring these kids closer to their dreams. 

Thuvakkam has initiated the program “Sponsor for Success - Scholarship” to help the kids and youngsters who are struggling to continue their education in school and college level. Students who need help, st,udy well and are parentless, single parent and/or from an underprivileged background are chosen for sponsoring post background verification. While the student’s personal details such as their age, name, faces are maintained confidential while posting requirements in open forums we update the individual sponsors privately by sharing the kids name, fee receipts and marks sheets.

The funds collected will be used for paying the kids school/college fees, exam fees, books and stationery requirements. Students studying from different backgrounds Engineering, Medicine, Arts & Science, Social Work, Agriculture, Literature and etc are currently being supported under this program. 

“Education is the most powerful weapon used to change the world” we as a group who wish to see a change in the world planned to support our future generation to continue their education thereby building their weapon for the change.

By sponsoring a child and supporting them in improving their knowledge through education, we believe this would help us reduce the dropout rate in schools and colleges and therefore impact and create a change in society.

UPDATE:

For the last fiscal year, we were able to fulfill 181 educational requests. 100+ donors had contributed to educating 50+ students. More than 62% of the students sponsored were girl students.
