The rising death toll and devastation

On June 2, The Coromandel Express, which was running at 127 Km/hr collided with a goods train and several coaches of the Bangalore-Howrah Express in Balasore district, Odisha and derailed on the main line. This devastating accident has claimed 300+ lives (numbers are rising unfortunately) and has injured 900+ people. Families have been shattered, dreams have been crushed, and communities are left grappling with grief and uncertainty. The sheer magnitude of this tragedy has left scars that will remain for generations to come.

The stories from the accident are heartbreaking‌. Survivors remember the coaches shaking and rising high up in the air and then crashing on the tracks with many people dying instantly and hundreds of others being badly injured. Immediate relief, medical attention, first aid, sustenance, and rehabilitation are critical for supporting survivors and the families of the deceased during this challenging time.
