Dear CRY Supporter,
Imagine watching floodwaters enter your home and having to leave behind almost everything you own, not knowing when you can return or where your family’s next meal will come from.
This is the reality for thousands of families in Assam. Even as floodwaters begin to recede in some areas, over 7 lakh people remain affected, with homes, livelihoods and essential infrastructure severely damaged.
For children and families who have lost their belongings and sources of livelihood, the struggle is far from over.
CRY’s on-ground team is working with partners and local systems to help protect children and families through the crisis and support their recovery. So far, we have reached 2,470 flood-affected households and 1,780 children in some of the worst-hit areas.
With your support, we want to reach more families in one of the worst-affected districts, across three key areas:
Through these interventions, we’re responding to immediate needs while helping ensure that children continue to have access to healthcare, protection and education.
The floodwaters may recede, but rebuilding lives takes much longer. Your support can help us continue standing with children and families in Assam through the immediate crisis and the recovery that follows.
With gratitude,
