Story

Utsav Foundation, a not-for-profit NGO, is dedicated to addressing school dropout rates in India and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education and holistic development.

The Challenge:

Despite the government's efforts, many children in India remain out of school. The UDISE+ 2021-22 data reveals a concerning dropout rate, particularly at the secondary (12.6%) and upper primary (3%) levels. Financial hardships, family responsibilities, and societal norms, especially for girls, are major barriers to education for these children.

Our Solution:

To combat these challenges, Utsav Foundation has established Learning Centres aimed at enrolling and supporting children who have dropped out of school. These centres provide education from primary to high school levels, with advanced courses in technology and vocational skills. Our goal is to ensure that students not only catch up academically but also acquire the skills necessary for future success.

Our Objectives:
  • Increase Access to Quality Education: Provide equal opportunities for underprivileged children in urban and semi-urban areas.
  • Empower with Practical Skills: Offer vocational training and digital literacy aligned with market demands.
  • Promote Community Engagement: Foster support through peer mentoring and group activities.
  • Ensure Inclusivity: Reach marginalized groups, including girls and differently-abled individuals.
  • Measure Impact: Regularly assess development and identify areas for improvement.
  • Forge Partnerships: Collaborate with government, non-profits, and private enterprises.
  • Sustainability: Develop a sustainable funding model and roadmap for scaling the program.
The Cost:

For the 2024-25 fiscal year, the total operational cost for supporting 400 children is ₹1,23,80,000. This budget covers meals, books, salaries, rent, uniforms, and other essential operational expenses.

Our Request:

We kindly seek your support through a grant of ₹1,23,80,000 to ensure the continuation and expansion of the STREET TO SCHOOL project. Your generosity will directly contribute to providing essential education and skill development to children who need it the most, helping them break the cycle of poverty.

The Impact:

Your support will increase educational access, empower youth with practical skills, and foster community engagement. Together, we can transform lives and create a brighter future for the next generation.

We deeply appreciate your consideration of our grant request and look forward to the opportunity to discuss how we can collaborate to achieve these critical goals.

Thank you for your support.
