Help 50 teachers become more confident, resourceful and effective educators.
Meet Rozina teacher:
“I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the techniques and strategies you've shared with us, such as the "I do, you do" method and the insights into assessments, both formative and summative. Additionally, your guidance on asking higher-level questions to assess their understanding has been incredibly helpful in my teaching journey.
Your guidance has made a significant impact on my ability to connect with these young learners and facilitate their English learning experience effectively.”

We worked with Rozina teacher between 2022 and 2024 on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) support for her students in an after school program. She received a 5 days training on FLN and thereafter a weekly 1 hour call with other teachers learning and discussing classroom scenarios; classroom observations and feedback.
A teacher can influence the learning journey of dozens of children every day. But teachers cannot be expected to transform classrooms through training alone.
The problem: Training a teacher is only the beginning.
Teachers attend workshops. They learn new approaches. They receive resources.
Does it translate into meaningful classroom instructions? Research says, in many cases it doesn’t. The following could be possible challenges a teacher may face.
Without continued support, good ideas from training and workshops can struggle to become everyday classroom practice.
Across India, schools continue to face challenges related to teacher shortages, multi-grade classrooms and the availability of teachers with the right subject and pedagogical preparation. A recent TISS study across 10 states found significant shortages in core subjects including Mathematics, Science and English. Nearly half of government primary schools surveyed were also operating as multi-grade classrooms.
At the same time, teacher professional development needs to move beyond one-time training. Research and sector experience increasingly point towards continuous, practice-oriented support—where teachers get opportunities to practise, receive feedback, observe demonstrations and reflect on what is happening in their classrooms. Central Square Foundation's work on teacher training similarly highlights the importance of coherent professional development, classroom demonstrations, observation and continued support after training.
This is the gap Samait Shala seeks to address.
At Samait Shala Education Foundation, we believe teachers deserve more than a workshop.
We build a support system around the teacher so that professional learning moves from “I know this” to “I can do this in my classroom.”
Our Teacher Support Programme will work with 50 teachers between October 2026 and March 2027, reaching approximately 2,000 children.
We will support teachers in 3 areas:
1. Plan and teach for ALL children
Teachers build the confidence and skills to plan and execute lessons that respond to diverse learning levels, needs and abilities within the same classroom.

2. Make classrooms more interactive
Teachers learn to effectively use teaching-learning materials and, importantly, democratize their use by putting materials into children's hands—encouraging children to explore, collaborate, practise and learn actively.

3. Use technology to work smarter
Teachers develop practical digital skills to plan lessons, differentiate instruction, organise resources and improve their productivity—so technology becomes a support rather than an additional burden.

We don't stop when the workshop ends. Teachers are supported through different stages.

We are raising ₹2,50,000 to support 50 teachers from October 2026 to March 2027, with each teacher potentially impacting approximately 40 children.
That means your contribution can help strengthen the classroom experience of 2,000 children.
Every contribution can make a difference
