Support a child's admission into formal school

In India, 53% of children under the age of 10 do not receive any formal education. Most of these children end up as child labourers. Children who do manage to receive some form of education are constantly treated unequally and trail behind students who attend formal schools for job opportunities.

Our programme reaches out to the children of migrant labourers engaged in low-paying jobs as plumbers, rickshaw pullers and domestic helpers. At our school, the students study until they complete primary education.

We follow a level based curriculum where children are allowed to learn at their own pace. On completion of primary school education, the students are enrolled into a mainstream school.

This programme supports the education of these students until the completion of their high school education. To help them keep up with other pupils and overcome initial adjustment issues, we hold evening classes within our After School Support programme.

We have mainstreamed over 100 children into formal schools and monitor their progress regularly. We intend to enrol over 1000 children by the end of this project and require your support to achieve it.
