Support a Shelter Home for Street and Slum Children

We run shelter homes for street children, children of sex workers, orphans and semi-orphans, and have been implementing this project for the last ten years. The Pune Municipal Corporation is supporting this project by providing space and meagre financial support for about 100 children. Although, this support is not enough and is delayed by months. One of the other major problems is that it has become difficult to retain the staff without the promise of regular pay. The rate quoted is 5 years old, and with inflation, the rate of food items rates have shot up. We are unable to pay the salary of the staff on time. The present strength is 130 children, and we are looking for support for this project anxiously.

Concern:-

If the Children would have stayed on the streets, they would have become either drug addicts or gamblers, or criminals.

We are implementing this project with great difficulties, We often buy grocery on credit basis and credit rates are higher than regular payment of the materials purchased. Salary is not paid on time.

The impact of the project is:-

1. The children are getting proper education.

2. The children under this project will become good citizens.

3. Some of our children are working in hospitals as lab technicians.

4. Some of our children are working in hotels.
