Adding to this one of the major problem in the area is low literacy rate especially among women. Parents has biased attitude towards girls education as an outcome of gender biasness predominant in the area. Schools are grappling with problems of quality and the improper functioning in the schooling system.
Girls do not have much say in decision making choices and in general girls drop out of schools. Since they live in remote areas and parents are daily wage earners or temporary migrants, girls are forced to discontinue schooling to stay behind to perform household chores or look after their siblings while parents are away for livelihood. As per baseline data 2019, 5.2% girls drop out of school between 4th to 8th standard in the villages of Sambhar Block, Jaipur.
To improve learning outcomes improvement at primary level and promote successful transition to upper level. Supporting the children with learning gaps in achieving age appropriate learning levels. Creating a culture of reading and creating a print rich environment. sensitize parents on importance of elementary education
Primarily the Education Coordinator and community mobilizers will be orientated on the issues to be used during family visits. They will conduct family visits and provide effective counselling to parents and caregivers about the quality education for children and ensuring their participation in providing quality education.
GCK provides assistance in the form of school supplies to poor female students, in order to check the number of dropouts and encourage education of the girl child.
The beneficiaries are chosen based on recommendations by village-level organizations.
The final selection happens after physical verification.
Benefits can be given at any point of time in a year and all items are given at once.
To increase enrollment, retention and improve learning outcomes among girl children in schools and mobilize community support towards education of children. Children established positive relationship with parents and peers for shared and supportive learning’s. Children have an improved culture and environment promoting active reading in community
