Support Alohomora Education Foundation to Bridge the Opportunity Access Gap and Help Government School Students Access Tertiary Education Opportunities

When Soni finished school, she thought she had only one career option: becoming a teacher.

It wasn't because that was her dream. It was because it was the only profession she knew.

Everything changed when she joined Alohomora's CareerShala. Through career exploration sessions, she discovered the world of media and storytelling and realised she loved video editing. Today, she is training at a media lab, learning to shoot and edit professionally, and building a future she had never imagined for herself.

Soni's story is inspiring, but it is not unique. Every year, we meet thousands of young people who are curious, ambitious, and eager to build meaningful futures. Yet for many, the biggest challenge begins after school. It isn't a lack of ability. It's a lack of access to information, guidance, and opportunities that help them take the next step.

Last year, Alohomora reached more than 40,000 young people across Jhajjar, Haridwar, Bihar, and other geographies. As we stayed connected with these students after they completed school, we saw how continued guidance and timely support helped many of them move from aspiration to action.

One such student is Vivek from Jhajjar. Passionate about photography, Vivek secured admission to a professional sports photography course but worried about how he would afford the costs. Through the Pratibha Manthan Scholarship, he received financial support that helped cover transportation and equipment, allowing him to continue his training and build a portfolio for a career in sports photography.

We ensure that capable young people have the information, guidance, and support they need to access opportunities beyond school.

Through CareerShala and our post-school tertiary education transition support, we help young people:

• Discover pathways that align with their interests and aspirations.
• Navigate admissions, entrance examinations, scholarships, and application processes.
• Make informed decisions about higher education, vocational education, and other opportunity pathways.
• Access need-based financial support for small but critical expenses that enable them to take the next step.

Sometimes, all it takes is the right guidance at the right moment. Sometimes it is a scholarship that helps a student accept an admission offer. Sometimes it is support to complete an application they were ready for but didn't know how to navigate. A small intervention at the right time can open the door to opportunities that change the course of a young person's life.

Provide flexible financial support to 50 young people for admission fees, travel, examinations, tools, equipment, and other essential expenses.
