Limping in pain, he dragged himself to the main road until someone found him and handed him over to us. “A 12X10 room in Uttar Pradesh. 45 boys. No fan, no windows, no food, and no humanity. They were working till 5 am, making bangles for almost 17-18 hours a day. They were beaten with rods, their eyes rubbed with chilli powder, and beaten if they didn’t hit targets or dared to sleep. They were not allowed to go to the toilet except once a day.
