Support Children living with HIV

23 lakh Indians are HIV-affected making us perhaps the world’s second largest HIV hub. The most startling fact remains that more than over 1 lakh socio-economically distressed children, including new-borns are HIV-affected. Paediatric HIV is one of the prominent causes of childhood morbidity and mortality across the world. More than 90% of HIV infections in children are the result of maternal-to-child transmission. Unfortunately, even after 40 years, people Living with HIV are still looking for a vaccine and now, the shortage in critical lifesaving medicines is sending fresh shockwaves to them.  

There’s a dearth of paediatric ARV (Anti Retroviral) Drugs for the vulnerable and marginalised for the period FY 2022-23. Almost 1,16,500 HIV-affected children are in need of AL-p Tablets (Abacavir 60 mg + Lamivudine 30 mg), NVP Syrup & Zidovudine Syrup 

Alliance India, working in collaboration with NACO, is trying to work towards emergency procurement mechanism to ensure the delivery of quality assured, non-expired ARVs to infants and children living with HIV. This is an appeal to corporate, philanthropic institutions and philanthropists to play their part in ensuring that life-saving ARV drugs are delivered to infants and children on time, without fail. 

We are striving hard to amass resources to help children with their treatment, adequate nutrition, education, abuse-free environment and a platform to nurture their talents. Our Care & Support Centers are located strategically very close to the communities and the ART Centers. These are hubs where communities, especially women and children can access information, guidance and support. We have 360 such Care & Support Center across 32 states and union territories in India.
