Support Food and Shelter for 20 children in Manasu girl care center for a year

In our society, we need to work a lot more harder in order to ensure the safety of our girls. Every day, many children and young girls run away from their homes because of poverty, abuse and other reasons. Young girls are sometimes cheated in the name of love or marriage.

These children are becoming an easy prey to those people who see them as an economic resource. Many a times, we are capable of preventing such onslaughts on children However, the probability of rescuing children from the claws of trafficking is very low.

Manasu centre is the only girl-child centric centre in the city of Visakhapatnam. It provides for their accomodation (short or long), food and health care, counselling, formal, non-formal education and vocational training. The centre has the capacity to accommodate up to 45 children. The centre believes that home care is the best care and tries to integrate the child back into their family. However, in cases where children could not be integrate back into their homes because of an abusive environment at home, in such cases, the home provides for the education and vocational training support to the girl child.

The goal of Manasu Girl Care Centre to ensure a better future for the vulnerable girl child, and also to provide permanent shelter for children where integration with the family is not possible.

Manasu Girl Care Centre provides for education for girls from vulnerable situations (orphans, abused, run away from home etc.). The center provides the facilities for stay, (short or long), food and health care, counselling, formal education and vocational training. The center has capacity to accommodate up to 45 children.

Every year, 10-15 children are integrated back into the family. About 30 children are provided education in a private school. Some of the children have completed their schooling and are now studying Engineering, Nursing and other courses.
