Established on 31st January 2003 Auxilium Snehalaya fosters children (girls)of 6 to 12 years and is situated near the Guwahati Refinery gate in Bishnu Rabha Nagar, Noonmati. The home is registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. With focus on protection of human rights the services are coupled with educational support as well. Auxilium Snehalaya provides residential care to 30 young, disadvantaged,and vulnerable girls. Children are enrolled in schools forcompletion of their basic education. Tuition classes are provided for children to help supplement and facilitate learning.Children are guided and counselled by the team of professional counselors.Case/Field workers play a vital role in supporting this care-giving procedure.They also maintain the intervention and/or investigation reports, case history, and all related data pertaining to every girl who is brought to this home. opportunities are provided for children –there is a basketball court and aplayground where children engage in activities promoting all round fitness.The project focuses on meeting the essential needs of the children who have been rescued and brought into the residential homes.Bringing in these young people and reinstating them in an environment that is caring is the primary focus at Snehalaya.

 The project ensures that daily needs are catered for, and associated staff members’ salaries are supported. Apart from meeting these needs, medical care and basic education are also included in the program. With love and care, children are fostered to grow as responsible citizens, paving the way for an independent and better future. Every child in the care of Snehalaya will receive the opportunity to build their lives with dignity and confidence. Providing basic facilities for underprivileged children in a structured and goal-oriented manner is the most effective and efficient way of achieving social equity. Sustainable Development Goals SDGs1- NO POVERTY,3- GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING and 10- REDUCED INEQUALITIES are the three main goals that Snehalaya aims at achieving through this foster-care program. Healthy and emotionally stable children grow into responsible citizens, capable of spreading goodwill and care among people like them. Therefore, with a project like this, the clear goal of nurturing well-balanced individuals will be achieved, which will further ensure safe community. The project focuses on fulfillment of basic needs for children and provide a child friendly space where children have access to their basic rights – love and care, protection and security, education, health, and hygiene along with food, shelter, and clothing.

Nutritious,food,Medical care, Counseling services and child care guidance,Basic education Simple clothing & foot wear,Stationery and other materials to support education.

Salaries for caregivers and support staff over all maintenance of homes/administration

Stages of implementation:

Snehalaya has an established protocol that is follow ed meticulously when children are brought in,which is as follows: Coordination with local/government authorities Record and update of basic data Preliminary medical exam Issue of clothing and other basic hygiene products

Direct beneficiaries: 30 children and 5 staff

The home rehabilitates girls – poor, orphaned, deprived, or vulnerable in the age group of 6 to 12 years, who are in need of care and protection and have a chance at a better future.In short, 30 children (girls) along with recruited staff members in the home will benefit from the implementation of the project. Children will receive the support and care to grow and develop into responsible individuals, capable of being a responsible part of society and the community. A sense of belonging develops among children, as they receive an opportunity like any other individual in the society.
