Our Journey: From Books to Brighter Futures

We began with a simple idea: to provide books to schools in need. This was done through used book donations. But as we delved deeper, we realized that simply donating books wasn't enough. Schools needed guidance on how to effectively utilize these resources and inspire children to read.

To address this, we implemented a book-leveling system to ensure students received age-appropriate materials. We also experimented with running library hours in a government school, where we discovered the power of engaging and structured activities.

Based on these insights, we developed a comprehensive training program for educators, teaching them how to create joyful reading experiences, assess reading levels, help struggling readers and foster a love of learning.

Initially focused on urban schools, we've expanded our reach to rural areas, spreading the joy of reading far and wide.

While we receive many higher-level books and novels through book donations, we often face a shortage of books specifically designed for beginning readers. These foundational books are crucial for developing essential reading skills and fostering a love of learning. Early reader books in English are very much required for government schools where children needs to get inspired with reading, starting with simple books with beautiful pictures.

Our work doesn't stop with just providing books. WE need to train the educators as well and follow up with them periodically on how they are performing and guiding them doing site visits.
