Support LEAF's Handwriting Improvement Program for underprivileged students

1) Why are we doing this?

At Lakshmi Educational Aid Foundation (LEAF), we recognize that foundational academic skills are vital for student success, particularly in government schools where resources are limited. Handwriting is often overlooked in the digital age, yet it remains a key skill that impacts both academic performance and personal development. Poor handwriting is frequently misinterpreted as a lack of intelligence, which can negatively affect students' confidence and hinder their academic progress. Our Handwriting Improvement Program aims to address this critical gap by offering structured handwriting training that enhances cognitive and motor skills, while also fostering creativity and building self-esteem. This program is part of our broader STEAMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Art, and AI) education initiative, designed to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century.

2) Who will benefit from this?

This program will directly benefit government school students, who often lack the resources and personalized attention needed to improve their handwriting skills. These students will not only enhance their handwriting but also develop important cognitive, motor, and creative abilities. Teachers will also benefit from specialized training, equipping them with the tools to support students in their ongoing handwriting development. 3) How are we doing it?

The Handwriting Improvement Program will be delivered through a structured and comprehensive approach:

• Training Modules: Students will undergo basic handwriting improvement sessions, followed by the integration of artistic and creative handwriting techniques to encourage self-expression.
• Workshops and Competitions: Engaging, hands-on workshops will be held to teach effective handwriting techniques, alongside competitions to motivate students and reward their progress.
• Teacher Training: Teachers will receive two days of training to help them effectively support students in improving their handwriting skills.
• Resource Materials: Students and teachers will be provided with the workbook.

4) What will be the impact?
