Support Meet Jain in raising Funds for Dharavi Talents

Hello everyone.

I'm delighted to tell you about a remarkable project The Dharavi Dream Project and me, Meet Jain are working on, in Mumbai's Dharavi neighbourhood. For the local youth, we are establishing a learning centre to teach them different arts like, beat-boxing, b-boying, rap, graffiti, and aerial silk.

I have been learning aerial silk since 5 years and want to use my skill by teaching kids who are 12+ years at the centre. We are offering the classes for free of cost as they may not have enough funds to set up a facility and showcase their talent while living in a low-income zone. With me, is Tia Kanungo as a co-instructor who has also been practcing aerial silk since years now.

One of the biggest slums in Asia is Dharavi, where residents struggle to find employment and educational opportunities. Our goal is to give local kids a creative outlet and the opportunity to acquire a new skill that could become a professional route as well as a hobby.

We require funds for arranging special equipment like speakers, recording instrument, the cloth for aerial silk, mats, paint and a lot of other things. We need help from you all, and hence urge you to donate a small amount to us, helping The Dharavi Dream Project to succeed in their mission of bringing out talent and fulfilling kids’ dreams in Dharavi. 

We completed our first round of donations last year in July, after which we commenced these classes. We have completed one year of successful teaching with a showcase and certification programme with special guest Ms. Rajmudra Loke. To continue our project we need more funds and hence our launching this fundraiser for a second time. We have made this effort a reality but we do not want to see it end. In order to continue our classes, keep providing kids with new oppurtunities and buy the required supplies for teaching aerial silk, we are looking for funds around 3 lakh rupees out of which we have raised over ₹45,150. Your support will enable us to provide the youth in Dharavi with a secure environment and a new set of skills each passing day.
