Support Small Farmers in Bihar

Over 70% of the population in Punpun block in Patna district of Bihar is dependent on agriculture. Farmers mostly rely on traditional methods of farming, resulting in low agriculture production and hence, income. Lack of knowledge and poor agriculture facilities elevate their problems. Due to problems as such, migration towards cities in search of better livelihood is being pursued extensively. Further, the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown its effects on poor farmers leaving fewer opportunities of income.

Mega International seeks to help small farmers and their families in rural areas of Patna district of Bihar in India, by enhancing their livelihood and improving their food and nutritional intake. In this project, farmers will be supported with high quality seeds and fertilizers for vegetable plantation and some training for improving their knowledge in agriculture techniques.

Trainings in advanced farming practices & market linkages and support for agriculture seeds and fertilizers will expand the horizon of understanding of 50 small farmers. This will enable them to adopt latest methods and practices to increase productivities, income and also, meet the family's food and nutritional requirements. The farmers can secure their food needs, manage their resources & will not have to migrate to cities.
